Neurite outgrowth assays
JSW offers different neurite outgrowth assays to assess the neurotrophic or regenerative efficacy of compounds using the following cell types:
- Embryonic hippocampal neurons
- Embryonic cortical neurons
- Dorsal root ganglion (DRG) cultures of different developmental stages
Cultures are analysed for neurite length and area of neuritic halos in case of DRG explants by immunolabelling for neurite specific markers and semi-automatic quantification (see Analyses of culture models).
